Strategic response to Romania’s SAFE RFI reinforces local defence industry and European defence cooperation

Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. has formally submitted its response to the Request for Information (RFI) issued by the SAFE Technical Secretariat of the Romanian Government.
The submission outlines a comprehensive and forward-looking proposal to strengthen Romania’s defence industrial capabilities while contributing to the broader resilience of the European defence ecosystem.
This proposal offers a structured industrial model that combines advanced manufacturing, technology transfer, and Romanian-based industrial implementation while remaining within the European compliance frameworks and coordinated defence procurement initiatives.

Strengthening local industrial capacity through European integration

A central focus of the proposal is a full-scale technology transfer programme, which is designed to support the incorporation of manufacturing processes within Romania. Beretta is ready to engage with Romanian authorities to define the scope of localisation, establish implementation timelines, and further detail the Industrial Participation and Technology Transfer Plan, ensuring we adhere with Romania’s defence strategy and SAFE programme objectives.
